ANALISA CORRAL WHAT'S REAL ANYWAY?

If you think that a cross between Lana Del Rey and Rosie Lowe sounds too good to be true, well prepared to be pleasantly surprised and have your expectations surpassed by Analisa Corral. This West Coast newcomer writes and produces all her own music, resulting in a deeply intimate listening experience on her blissfully hallucinogenic single ‘What’s Real Anyway?’. As separated from reality as the songwriter’s mind in the moment, the ambient electronics, subtle trap beats, tambourine shake and surging synth keys create an otherworldly space in which lies become truth. In a weary tone, Corral whispers sweet nothings to herself, 'I’m a pretty good liar, tell myself all the time, I could have…'. This nostalgic sensibility is kept up through the song, giving the impression of a person still living in the past, because that’s where 'my love used to be real'. It’s truly a wonderfully arranged and produced piece of alternative pop, with keenly felt emotions and the artistic presence of Analisa Corral throughout. - Hannah Thacker
